About Me

As most other people in the class, I am enrolled in the course because it is a requirement. That does not mean I will treat it as such, because there is a lot to learn about local government that I personally have neglected in my many years of living in Texas. Growing up in such a liberal city, I have identified to a more libertarian mindset on politics. My beliefs lie along the idea that the government should not have a say in personal choices, especially if they do not intrude upon the rights of others. Having recently achieved voting age, campaigns have become more relevant as I finally have a say in them, and the current 2016 election is one I cannot miss. I would like to learn the trivia and tidbits about Texas Government, how to ensure my voice is heard and know when politicians are purposefully overlooking their duties. And finally, I didn't do too well on the quizzes in class, as football and local trivia just wasn't too high on my list of interests.
